Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – 59.5 percent of Thai students were good whereas 49.7 percent were happy, according to a survey.
22,088 respondents were surveyed in the ABAC Poll, and the period of the study was between June and July. Respondents covered Prathom 5-doctoral students.
55.6 percent were found to think good while 53.1 percent did good as well.
52.8 percent said they were proud of Thainess. The figures showed an improvement from the last survey dated back to January-February.
The information will be submitted to Education Minister Jurin Laksanavisit on July 31, and used as the database to develop Thailand’s teaching and learning process.
Education ministry aims to produce good and happy students who are proud of Thainess more.
Suan Dusit Poll earlier revealed that 34 percent of teachers, students and general public nationwide said Thai language was the national identity.
25 percent thought that Thai language was beautiful whereas 17 percent considered it as the central language spoken by people in all parts of Thailand, and 14 percent viewed Thai language as the cultural heritage.
Nevertheless, 49 percent wanted the initial compound consonants to be clearly pronounced and 16 percent called for accurate Thai writing.
