Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – 70 percent of Thai people thought families should take a role in building awareness of ethics and virtues, according to a survey.
1,110 respondents were surveyed by the moral center. Respondents were divided into five sample groups: teachers, business people, public figures, general public, and students.
Thais’ honesty, responsibility, mindfulness as well as discipline declined.
70 percent believed that families and business organizations should play a role in building ethics and virtues among Thai children and youths.
Children, youths and people aged less than 29 years seemed to pin their hope on family, educational and religious institutions to implant virtues.
Working people tended to pin their hope on families and business organizations more whereas religious institute was not a hope for people aged 40-49 years.
The interesting point was that political institution was least useful to build ethics awareness.
Most respondents agreed that the best way to implant virtues and ethics was to set an example for children and youths.
