Bangkok (Own Source) – Thailand is joining worldwide nations to pressure the Burmese government to release Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi on her 64th birthday.

The so-called pro-democracy icon Suu Kyi had to celebrate her birthday in prince once again.

She has spent thirteen years in detention. Suu Kyi has also been held in Insein Prison after a strange event which an American man swam to her house.

Famous names including British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, footballer David Beckham and US actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts all offered support on a website while the United States and EU led political calls for her release, according to AFP.

Debating forums will be held in Thailand together with other incidents in worldwide nations such as Malaysia, Ireland and Australia.

Burmese refugees in Mae Sot planned to hold events to call for her freedom as well.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is reportedly going to visit Myanmar early in July after his trip to Tokyo.
