Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Sondhi Limthongkul, one of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leaders and founder of Manager Daily newspaper, said the Puea Thai MPs were ready to move to other political parties.
Sondhi also said that former premier Thaksin Shinawatra’s phone-ins aimed at retaining the Puea Thai political base.
He predicted that Puea Thai MPs were ready to move to other political parties due to the party’s status.
It is possible that these MPs will eventually join Phumjai Thai Party as there are a lot of former Thai Rak Thai (TRT) MPs there.
Sondhi revealed that ex-TRT executive Sudarat Keyurapan gave her support to such idea, and the soldiers-led party initiated by Gen Sonthi Boonyaratglin is planning to join forces with Phumjai Thai Part as well.
He believed Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva would be brave enough to make a decision after the no-confidence debate, so that the Democrat Party would survive.
The censure debate will take place on March 19-20.
Chakrapob Penkair, leader of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD), said the red shirts’ rally would occur after the house debate since the group wanted to follow up with issues discussed in the censure debate.
Deputy PM Suthep Thaugsuban said he was not worried about the red shirts and it would be not necessary to control the situation by the enforcement of the Internal Security Act.
