Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Newin Chidchob, former Thai Rak Thai executive, confirmed he did not want to take the prime minister post.

Deputy Interior Minister Boonjong Wongtrairat said MPs from Friends of Newin group did not join the Phumjaithai Party to pave way for Newin to be the premier in the future.

He admitted Friends of Newin group had to get advices from Newin and other experienced politicians who were deprived of their political rights when the Thai Rak Thai Party was disbanded.

Phumjaithai Party currently has 30 MPs. Boonjong believed more MPs would join the party.

He also said that the Amnesty Law would not be proposed since it was not an urgent issue like economic problem.

Joining the launch of the Phumjaithai Party, Newin told the reporters that he was not ready to enter politics. He kidded that he might need to take another five-year break.

Famous politicians such as Pongpol Adireksarn, Pradit Phatraprasith and Suchart Tancharoen joined to congratulate Phumjaithai Party on its party establishment.
