Bangkok - The road ahead is certainly not rosy for PM-elect Abhisit Vejjajiva since many parties expected him to solve all the problems.
Refusing to give an interview to the reporters, Abhisit said he would complete the cabinet list and present the government’s policies to parliament by the end of this month if his premiership were officially endorsed by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
He emphasized his policies would focus on nation’s unity and economic boosting so as to bring back investors’ confidence within three months.
Poj Aramvattananont, president of the Thai Frozen Foods Association, said the private sector wanted to see the end of social division as economic impact would be much felt next year.
Chukiat Opasvong, president of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, said the first priorities for the new government were confidence boosting, unemployment and export problem solving.
Sombat Naravutthichai, secretary-general of the Securities Analysts Association, the new prime minister was acceptable for businessmen and investors.
He warned that the cabinet should be accepted by the society and the government’s policies needed to be concrete, so that the country could move forward.
However, the Puathai Party called its meeting, planning to attack the government as soon as the government presented its policies to parliament.
Besides, the red-shirt members are planning to come to Bangkok to protest against the Democrat-led government.
