Thais want govt to emphasize country’s benefits

Bangkok (Manager Online) - Most of Thai people wanted the government to do its duty for the sake of the nation and urgently solve economic and social problem, according to the Suan Dusit poll.

4,137 respondents from all walks of life were surveyed during December 22-28. Respondents were from Bangkok and adjourning provinces.

43.80 percent wanted the government to focus on country’s benefits 24.68 thought it had to seriously solve all problems.

13.61 percent said the government should be transparent, honest and fair to all parties while 11.48 percent wanted the government to solve economic problem as well as social division.

43.75 percent felt relieved the government took office to administrate the country whereas 28.26 percent were worried about mob against mob.

20.72 percent wanted to see the government’s policy declaration run smoothly while 42.16 percent thought all parties learned a lesson from the October 7 crackdown.

40.13 percent hoped there would be no parliament or airport seizure by the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) while 26.47 percent thought several problems need to be solved.

17.16 percent said the government should get an opportunity to run the country for a while whereas 11.09 percent wanted to see a serious probe into Abhisit government.

5.15 percent thought the Truth Today program should be further held.
