Bangkok (Manager Online) - Democrat Party’s leader Abhisit Vejjajiva expected the setup of a new government would become more concrete next week.
Abhisit was sure that the new government formation would clearly take shape next week. However, he said nothing was certain until the new premier was elected.
He thanked all political parties for supporting the Democrat Party to set up the government, agreeing a tough job awaited the new government.
Abhisit urged all parties to join to solve the nation’s crisis, asking for an opportunity to prove himself in helping the rural people.
Democrat Party’s leader admitted his party was much criticized after Friends of Newin group joined the party to form the government.
Abhisit insisted the country’s benefits were emphasized.
The Puathai Party and Democrat Party reportedly competed for forming the government and trying to attract the other side’s MPs by offering some incentives.
Ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra’s spokesman Pongthep Thepkanchana said he did not know where Thaksin is now, denying the former prime minister influenced the Puathai Party’s government setup.
