Bangkok (Manager Online) - Leaders of the Puathai Party are coordinating to hold talks with Newin in a hope to draw back Friends of Newin MPs to the party.
Vittaya Buranasiri, former government whip, revealed a negotiation team comprising the party’s leader Yongyuth Vichaidith, Vittaya Buranasiri and ex-leader of the party who is Newin’s friend, contacted to hold a discussion with Newin Chidchob.
The discussion would take place today, but time and place were not settled yet.
Chiang Rai MP Pichet Chuamuangpan and Lampun MP Staporn Maneerat told the reporters there would be a surprise by 5:00 pm today.
They said their party would let the Democrat Party played its game, believing tomorrow would be their day.
Ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra reportedly called Newin after his wife Pojaman Shinawatra failed to contact him on phone.
Supachai Phosu, Nakhon Panom MP from Friends of Newin group, admitted some leaders of the Puathai Party contacted Newin to persuade MPs in his group to go back to the party.
He also revealed Newin selectively answered phone calls from those leaders and his facial expression was not so good during talking to Thaksin on phone.
However, Newin told his former boss that things were over.
Previously, Kwanchai Praipana, leader of the Udon Lover club, verbally threatened Newin and his group, urging them to be grateful to Thaksin.
