Bangkok - Academics from various educational institutes sent a petition to dismiss Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat as the premier ordered police to harm people on October 7.
Ms. Jiraporn Limpananont who represented a group of academics today sent the petition to Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondej to call for the dismissal of Somchai.
Not less than 20,000 signatures were collected in order to file the petition.
The premier did against the constitution law since he ordered police to use violence against people rallying in front parliament on October 7.
Senate Committee on Human Rights, Right and Liberties and Consumer Protection investigated into the violence and concluded the crackdown violated human rights and freedom.
PM Somchai was urged to take responsibility by the committee.
Moreover, Somchai admitted that he appeared on parts of the adulterous video clips.
The premier therefore should resign because his behavior is unethical.
