Bangkok - Smith Dharmasaroj, director of the National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC), said it was highly possible Bangkok would be flooded in the future.

The global warming would affect Thailand, especially Bangkok and adjourning provinces.

This is not to mention five-centimeter collapse of the soil, erosion, and higher sea level.

It was expected there would be heavy storms and floods in around August-November.

Smith and academics proposed a big dam should be built from Samut Songkram to either Samut Prakan or Chonburi.

The dam construction will cost 30 billion baht of budget per year for five years.
