Bangkok - It was rumored that the police were preparing to disperse the mob at the Government House at noon.
Gen Chamlong Srimuang, one of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leaders, told the demonstrators that the police were going to get inside the Government House to suppress the protesters today.
It was said policewomen and policemen were sent to be in the protest group to report news to their commanders.
Gen Chamlong called for those who were outside the Government House to join the PAD to fight for democracy and protest against the corrupt government.
Yesterday, the police tried to clamp down the demonstrators after the Criminal Court had issued the arrest warrants for nine PAD leaders.
However, there was no clash between the police and PAD protesters.
Last night, the protesters formed human chains to protect the nine PAD leaders from the police.
Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej assigned Interior Minister Kovit Wattana to crack down the PAD demonstrators.
