Bangkok - 46% of Thai people did not believe the juridical process would be interfered as cited by the former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

1,919 respondents were interviewed by NIDA during August 14-17. The survey was about Thaksin’s fleeing to the United Kingdom to escape all criminal charges.

Respondents aged between 18 and 70 years, were from all educational backgrounds and walks of life.

46% did not think the juridical process would be intervened while 38% believed it would.

15.8% did not know and gave no comment.

The respondents who believed in Thaksin’s statement outnumbered those who did not believe in the northeast the most.

61.8% did not think Thaksin would wash his hand of politics after fleeing to Britain.

58.6% said the court should use Thaksin’s case to be the norm for not allowing any politicians facing charges to travel to other countries.

65.8% thought the British government should send Thaksin back if Thailand legally asked for it.
