Bangkok - More than thirty million baht were spent to hire people in some areas to run mobs against mobs, according to Democrat Party secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban.
Asked about clashes between the Khon Rak Udon group and members of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) in Udon Thani, he said he was very upset about the incident.
The Khon Rak Udon group's leader cited Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobumrung called to cheer the Khon Rak Udon group up.
Suthep said he is collecting evidence and documents to prove against the interior minister.
He also vowed to take action against Chalerm if the rumor is not groundless.
The interior minister claimed the violent incident in Udon Thani was because the pro-Thaksin group was not content with the members of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) members.
Theerachai Saenkaew, Deputy Agriculture Minister, said he was not the mastermind behind the incident and already told his younger brother not to fall victim of the political situation.
His brother was one of the leaders of the Khon Rak Udon group.
