Bangkok - The agriculture ministry had a policy to boost the para rubber industry, especially the para rubber processing for export. Growing areas will be extended.
Thailand’s rubber processing for export was only 10% of the industry, according to the Department of Agriculture.
The agriculture ministry had an idea to promote the para rubber growing more, particularly in the northeast of Thailand.
1.5 million rai of land in the northeast is currently used for rubber growing.
It is expected the growing areas will be increased to 3 million rai of land in the next 4-5 years.
Natural rubber will be processed more to add value to the para rubber industry.
This is to serve the system link to Mukdaharn province, Vietnam’s Danang and Laos.
Para rubber is the significant agricultural product. More than six million people involve in the rubber growing and industry.
Thailand was the world’s biggest natural rubber manufacturer and exporter in 2007. The rubber exports valued up to more than 300,000 million baht.
