Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – The Abhisit government was urged to deal with state enterprises’ corruption after the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) strike.
1,217 households in 18 provinces were studied in the ABAC real-time poll on June 22.
69.6 percent of the respondents wanted the government to solve corruption problem at state enterprises.
64.3 percent said the government should stop selling the nation’s assets and 34.8 percent thought the government should change its strategies for state enterprise administration.
75.2 percent disagreed to the SRT strike which affected poor people. Participants also complained about bad economy and afflicted sick people.
24.8 percent agreed to the strike since they disliked the present government, did not want the country’s asset to be sold, and concerned about the future of the SRT.
53.8 percent felt bad toward the government and the SRT staff while 20.1 percent felt indifferent.
55.7 percent said they were uncertain whether they should support the government whereas 22.9 percent still gave their support to the government.
21.4 percent decided not to support the Democrat-led government.
