Bangkok – Thailand was ranked 51st with seven percent access to the broadband Internet, according to a survey released by Strategy Analytics.
Thailand’s access to the high-speed Internet is still low compared to its neighboring countries like Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc.
South Korea topped the broadband Internet use, followed by Singapore, the Netherlands, Denmark, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Israel, Switzerland, Canada and Norway.
Japan came in the 16th whereas China the 43rd, Malaysia 44th, Vietnam the 52nd, the Philippines the 53rd and Indonesia the 58th.
It is a controversy whether the broadband Internet growth should be based on household or per capital.
Five of the top ten countries with high-speed Internet growth were in Asia.
It was estimated that broadband Internet use in the Asia-Pacific region would grow by 15 percent during 2009-2013.
