Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Thai children’s Intelligence Quotient or IQ remained at normal level but tended to drop more when they grew up, according to a survey.
Kindergarten students aged three to five years averagely had the IQ scores of 110.67.
However, the scores tended to decline when children grew up more.
The IQ scores of primary school students aged six to eleven years fell to 31-97.
Thai youths also reported more negative accumulated behaviors such as premature pregnancy and crimes.
Most of the crimes involved theft, drugs, physical harm, Internet addiction as well as class skipping.
The cost of life for Prathom 1-3 included teachers and friends while the cost of life for Prathom 4-6 involved family support, according to the mental health department.
The department surveyed 420 students in seven provinces such as Chiang Mai, Ratchaburi, Trad, Surat Thani and Bangkok.
