Bangkok - Thai society had less safety in the first quarter of this year, according to the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board.

The social security decreased due to drugs problem. Up to 49.4% of children and youths were involved in crimes.

The harm, robbery, thefts and road accidents rose by 53.8%.

It was found that Thai people were employed more and the unemployment rate was steady.

Growth could be seen in the agricultural sector. But there was less safety in life and assets.

The government was urged to invest in the mass transit system to cope with the inflation and soaring energy prices.

The most worrying issue was that primary school students’ Thai language was not up to the standard. Only 9.8% passed the test with more than 50% scores.

As for the environmental problem, dust was the most severe problem in Bangkok. Din Daeng flat was the worst as the dust level in the air was 159-205.4 micrograms per cubic metre.

The dust level should not exceed 120 micrograms per cubic metre.

Rama VI and IV Road came in the second and third place due to traffic problem.
