Bangkok - Apirak Kosayodhin planned to push Bangkok to be a pleasant city to live in for everybody. His policies would focus on people’s participation.

Apirak said he had to wait for the Election Commission (EC) to certify the election results.

He won a landslide victory in the Bangkok Governor election on October 5, beating his rivals such as the People’s Power Party (PPP) Prapas Chongsa-nguan, Chuwit Kamolvisith and Leena Jangjanja.

Apirak’s policies focus on free schooling, check-up, especially for the elders, clean and shady Bangkok, mass transit system extensions, and tourism promotion.

People’s participation will be mainly emphasized in his policies.

Flood problem will be an urgent issue to deal with and there is an action plan to serve this.

The EC is considering whether to give a yellow card to Apirak.

Apirak said he wanted the EC to speed up the probe, confirming his vote campaigning was based on law.

He was accused of giving Wi-Fi cards during his governorship and benefitting from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) signposts.

The EC will call a meeting on October 8 to decide whether to first certify the election results and later consider charges against him.
