Bangkok - Thai people had less safety in life and assets in the first quarter, according to the Office of National Economic and Social Development Board.
Thai people’s safety in life and assets dropped due to drugs problem. Drugs cases increased 49.4%.
38.4% more children and youths tended to get involved in drugs. Assets-related cases increased 10.2%.
The number of children and youths who did repeated crimes rose by 14% in the first quarter of this year, compared to 12.3% in 2007.
Whether how much the Euro 2008 affects Thai children and youths can be concluded in the second quarter.
Thais, especially in the agricultural sector, had more income due to rising rice price.
As for health, eleven diseases, particularly the dengue fever and foot and mouth disease, are closely watched.
