Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Thai people become unhappy more because of the current political situation. Politics is one of the major factors affecting Thais’ mental condition.

Politics, economy as well as society are significant factors for happiness here. Most Thais have experienced more stress from the political situation in recent years.

So far, the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) has seized the Government House, planning to move more aggressively against the Abhisit government.

There are also some other groups which act against former premier Thaksin Shinawatra and the red shirts who attack the royal institution and notable figures.

The DAAD seems to bring Thailand back to another political turmoil just a short while after the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protests.

DAAD protesters said they wanted democracy back as well, forgetting their rallies are based on the democratic principles.

17.3 percent or 13 million Thais were unhappy and yearned for happiness treatment, according to the department of mental health.

The gross domestic happiness (GDH) index dropped from 6.81 points in December to 6.59 in January, according to ABAC Poll.
