Bangkok (Own Source) – Fugitive and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra believed the red shirts would stop fighting and Thai society would be back to normalcy when he got a royal pardon.

Thaksin told the English-language daily Japan Times that he has already sought a royal pardon from HM the King three times.

The ex-premier who has faced several charges revealed in the interview that his supporters would stop fighting if he got the pardon.

Thaksin earlier told the reporters he was merely a tamed dog and could be tamed again.

The movement to seek the pardon came after he had delivered his speech via a video link in Dubai to the Foreign Correspondents Club of Hong Kong.

He told the audience that he knew how to solve Thailand’s economic problem and would still win the election if there were one.

All the occurrences happened while HM the King was going to Siriraj Hospital for his regular check-up and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was preparing to visit the United Kingdom.

Another movement was that Puea Thai Party disclosed Lee Jones’s letter to oppose speech delivery by Abhisit at the St John's College. Jones is a foreign researcher in International relations of the Oxford University.

Foreign Minister Kasit Pirom denounced that a fugitive and convict like Thaksin should not do any political activities since he is banned by the law.

Time will tell if Thaksin would be able to solve Thailand’s economic problem and social divide or not.

The point is that Thaksin should first clear his name by going through the judicial process before starting to handle other issues, shouldn’t he?
