Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was going to make more phone-ins in the near future although he would not give his lecture in Hong Kong as planned.

Chatuporn Prompan, leader of the red-shirted group, said Thaksin confirmed he would make a phone-in whenever there was a big rally of the red shirts.

Red shirts plan to stage their rally in Khon Kaen on March 8. Two more rallies will take place in Ayutthaya on March 14 and in Chanthaburi on March 15.

There will also be a rally in Chiang Mai on March 22.

Thaksin’s visa was reportedly renewed by the United Kingdom. Pracha Prasopdee, Samut Prakan MP from Puea Thai Party, said this was normal since Thaksin used to do business there.

Pongthep Thepkanchana, Thaksin’s private spokesman, confirmed the postponement of his boss’s speech delivery was not because Hong Kong government was pressured by Thai government.

He also ruled out the possibility that Puea Thai MPs would today travel to meet Thaksin in Hong Kong.

Pongthep revealed that Thaksin was not there and he still did not have a chance to meet the ex-premier.
