Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices will be determined on January 16 while LPG imports fell 200,000 tons.

The National Energy Policy Committee (NEPC) will meet to consider the price adjustments on Friday, according to the energy ministry.

It was earlier proposed the LPG price for households should be lower than that of the transport and industrial sector.

Energy Minister Dr. Wannarat Charnnukul said the price hike in the transport sector would be less than six baht per kilogram.

The ministry would try to freeze the LPG price in the household sector to help reduce people’s burdens.

Wannarat believed LPG in the household sector would not be mixed up with LPG in the transport sector after price adjustments.

LPG imports decreased from about 60,000 to 40,000 tons a month.

Energy minister will also discuss the free electricity scheme with the NEPC to see how many units of electricity should be offered for people.

It is primarily assumed that the government will limit the free electricity at not more than 100 units.
