Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Foreign Minister Kasit Pirom met his Burmese counterpart to discuss measures to help the Cyclone Nargis victims.
The discussion took place at the Plaza Athenee Hotel.
Burmese Deputy Foreign Minister Kyaw Thu, chairman of the tripartite group to help the Nargis victims, was here on his inspection tour regarding the disaster management.
Kasit introduced himself to Kyaw Thu and asked him about the progress of his mission.
Thailand has played its role in helping the Nargis victims, especially the youths, women and aged people.
Kasit earlier welcomed Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, discussing the bilateral economic cooperation to boost Thailand’s small and medium-sized enterprise sector.
The foreign minister said he was told about Cambodia’s construction of road to access the Preah Vihear site and would let the Department of Information to brief the reporters on the issue.
