Bangkok (Manager Online) - Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva ordered a probe into a private phone number after receiving threatening phone calls, canceling some trips for his safety.

Chuan Leekpai, Democrat Party’s advisory chairman, and the intelligence unit earlier warned the premier that he might be harmed.

Abhisit revealed that some threatening phone calls used the pre-paid phones and there was a private phone number involving a group of people who tried to mess the situation up.

The premier already called off some trips for his safety, but would still make a trip to Krabi with his family.

Abhisit said he did not fear and would gear up to work to prove himself. He specially gave importance to the economic problem.

Chatuporn Prompan, leader of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD), said he was confident nobody wanted to harm Abhisit.

He criticized the premier just wanted to make people to feel sympathetic for him.

Chatuporn added that the DAAD group protested against Abhisit government peacefully and explicitly and would press more so that the government would dissolve parliament soon.

It was reported that Deputy PM Suthep Thaugsuban proposed to negotiate with the DAAD group and Thaksin Shinawatra to end the movement.

However, Chatuporn insisted the DAAD group would not change its standpoint and parliament dissolution was the only solution to the problem.
