Bangkok - The special cabinet meeting agreed to appoint Chavarat Charnvirakul as the caretaker prime minister while Sanan Kachornprasat will be in charge of the tourism and sports ministry.
Chavarat will also be in charge of the foreign ministry.
Acting Industry Minister Pol Gen Pracha Promnok will be in charge of the natural resources and environment ministry while acting Culture Minister Voravat Ua-apinyakul in charge of education ministry.
Olarn Chaiprawat will be in charge of commerce ministry.
Pol Gen Apichart Penkitti, permanent secretary for defence, will take care of defence ministry.
Chavarat said the interim government would take care of the country until the new government took office.
He however has not decided yet whether he would work at the foreign ministry, the Bureau of the Budget or Don Muang Airport.
