Bangkok - John Ungpakorn submitted his open letter to show support to parliament dissolution as the best solution to the political crisis.
He admired the army chief Gen Anupong Paochinda and other armed forces commanders for maintaining the democratic principles by refusing to stage a military coup.
John opposed any measures which could lead to the bloodshed no matter they were used by either government officials or the protesters.
He supported the parliament dissolution to end the political problem though he did not think it was the best solution.
The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) was urged to leave both airports and the Government House while other parties were also urged to stop using violence against the other party.
The PAD has seized the Government House, Don Muang Airport as well as Suvarnabhumi Airport to press Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to step down.
Somchai has been in Chiang Mai where the People Power Party (PPP) has a stronghold since his comeback from Peru.
John Ungpakorn is a respected Bangkok senator and one of the country’s renown intellectuals. He also runs the website ‘www.prachathai.com’.
