Bangkok - Most of the 88 airplanes left the Suvarnabhumi Airport last night after the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) agreed to let them take off to transport passengers at the U-Tapao Airport.
Bangkok Airways plane left the airport at 8:00 pm yesterday.
Twelve foreign airlines and some Thai airplanes gradually left the Suvarnabhumi Airport also.
The PAD closely kept up with their take-off.
AFP reported that 28 aircrafts still remained at the airport and 12 of them were foreign aircrafts.
The Airports of Thailand (AOT) has ordered the resumption of the airport closure although the PAD sent its letter to open the airport as usual.
The closure will continue until 6:00 pm today.
Maj Gen Chamlong Srimuang, one of the PAD leaders, said the closure was part of the plan to disperse the protesters and smear the PAD.
Veera Musikpong, one of the leaders of the pro-government group, is the younger brother of AOT acting president Serirat Prasutanont’s wife.
