BANGKOK (AFP) - Several passengers aboard a Bangkok Airways flight were injured Tuesday when their plane skidded off the runway as it landed on the Thai tourist island of Ko Samui, a company spokeswoman said.
A company official confirmed the incident involving a plane arriving from the western Thai town of Krabi, also a popular tourist destination.
"I can confirm that there was just an incident with our aircraft from Krabi to Samui that landed and skidded off the runway," spokeswoman Nandhika Varavan told AFP.
"We managed to evacuate all passengers and so far there are no deaths but some passengers are wounded," she said, without giving a specific number.
Bangkok Airways flies three times a week between the two tourist spots using 70-seater Turboflot aircrafts, an official said.
