Bangkok - Thai Airways International plans to cut its fuel surcharge at the end of this month to be in line with the world oil situation.
The surcharge cut is the result from world decreasing oil prices.
This will be applied to only some flights to alleviate passengers’ burden and is to maintain Thai Airways competitiveness in the airline business as well.
It was reported that Surachai Thansithpong, permanent secretary for transport, would be appointed as a new board chairman.
Previously, the national airline was criticized for letting politics influence its management when captain Chakri Jongsiri was suspended from doing his duty.
Thai Airways confirmed a probe into captain Chakri’s action against the PPP MPs was completed, confirming that the company did not protect captain Chakri.
It was not the first time a captain refused to let a passenger get on board. All was within the captain’s authority and responsibility.
