October 2, 2008
Bangkok - Thai Airways International announced to cut 15-30% of its fuel surcharge on both domestic and international routes, effective since October 1 onwards.

The fuel surcharge cuts are due to world oil prices which have continually fallen.

Thai Airways hopes the surcharge reduction would help increase the number of its passengers, especially on the international routes such as India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Korea.

The fuel surcharge on domestic flights decreased from 850 to 750 baht on all routes except Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son route.

The surcharge on international flights is 41 US dollars. This applies to flights from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Vientiane, Panom Penh, Penang, Rangoon, from Hong Kong to Taipei, from Dubai to Kuwait, from Chiang Mai to Kunming, from Garachi to Mascat, and from Bodh Gaya to Varanasi.

The 128 US dollar of surcharge applies to flights from Bangkok to Perth, from Denpasar to Mascat, Islamabad, Dehli, Mumbai, Kuwait, Dubai, Garachi, Lahor, Beijing, Shanghai, from Perth to Phuket, and from Chennai to Dubai.

The 215 US dollar of surcharge applies to flights from Bangkok to London, Paris and Madrid.
