Bangkok - Thailand’s budget airline One-Two-Go announced on Saturday it was suspending its operations for eight weeks due to financial restructuring.
Services will stop from July 22 until September 15.
"One-Two-Go have been affected by fierce price competition, other surcharges and continued high fuel prices and local political turmoil," the company statement said.
Being affected by soaring fuel prices, the airline’s executive have to be careful and set a new strategy focusing on its customers.
One-Two-Go is Thailand's first budget airline, launched in December 2003.
The fuel surcharge rose from 750 to 850 baht on July 5.
One-Two-Go airline flies from Don Muang Airport to six domestic destinations: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket and Hat Yai.
Its MD-82 crashed in last September, killing 130 passengers. Bad weather was said to cause the accident in Phuket.
