Bangkok - One-Two-Go Airlines joined other two budget airlines to set the standard fuel surcharge of 1,200-1,500 baht per passenger due to soaring energy prices and high competition.
One-Two-Go Airlines, Thai Air Asia and Nok Air agreed to set the central fuel surcharge of 1,200-1,500 baht per seat, effective since July 1 onwards.
The decision is to cope with soaring fuel cost. It is also to prevent the price competition among airlines which results in unrealistic ticket prices.
One-Two-Go Airlines and Nok Air started their new fuel surcharges on July 1 while Thai Air Asia is adjusting its system and will apply the new surcharge within this month.
One-Two-Go Airlines turns to reduce 15-20% of its flights to survive in this situation.
Nok Air will raise its surcharge from 750 to 950 baht and gradually raise it to the agreed amount in about one or two weeks.
Thai Air Asia’s surcharge remains at 550 baht per seat at the moment. It also charges for the baggage loading.
