Bangkok - Former prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s popularity seemed to drop after his phone-in, according to a poll.

ABAC surveyed 2,700 respondents. 57.6 percent thought that Thaksin’s popularity would rise if no phone-in while 47.3 percent said his popularity would hike after the phone-in.

61.1 percent said they were politically neutral.

25 percent supported the government whereas 13.4 percent were against the government.

82.6 percent were happy to see Thais express loyalty to the monarchy while 62.4 percent expressed concerns over current political situation.

Thaksin gave an exclusive interview to the Asian Business, accusing the British government of violating the democratic values.

He criticized the United Kingdom for paying attention to its problem so much that it forgot to maintain such values.

The interview took place in Dubai and would be published on the Sunday November 30 issue.
