Bangkok - Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group confirmed its food products and chicken eggs were melamine-free as the production process was up to safety standard.
Supat Srithanathorn, deputy senior marketing manager, said CP Group’s products were all safe for consumers.
The company’s products were up to the public health ministry’s international safety standard.
Previously, chicken eggs in Hong Kong and Japan were found to contain melamine.
China yesterday announced it was examining those eggs.
Supat also said CP Group’s eggs were mostly for domestic consumption and only a small percentage of eggs were exported to those countries.
Food scandal occurred in China when powdered milk was contaminated with melamine.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned that high level of melamine was found in China’s Orphic brand of chocolate.
