Bangkok - The price of the chicken egg currently remains weak and tends to fall more.
The egg price situation is not quite good as Thai people consume chicken eggs less.
The dropping purchasing power seems not to be in line with the 20% increasing number of chicken raisers.
As a result, the chicken egg oversupply happens inevitably.
The cost of the chicken egg is averagely 2.40-2.50 baht while the sold price remains at 2.30 baht per egg.
10,688 million eggs were produced in 2007 while the consumption rate was only 10,459 million.
Thai people averagely consume 160 eggs per person per year.
Chicken raisers were urged to reduce the number of their chickens. As for the excessive eggs, they need to be exported.
