Bangkok - S&P cookies were taken off shelf after such cookies sent to Germany were found to contain melamine.

Vithoon Sila-on, business development manager of S&P Syndicate Plc, revealed the company has just been informed its cookies sent to Germany were contaminated with melamine.

About sixty boxes of cookies were sent to Germany.

Vithoon said he did not know if those cookies were further sent to other countries or not.

The company contacted its supplier Glory Chain Co Ltd which confirmed it did not use China’s milk.

Glory Chain imported powdered milk from Australia.

S&P Syndicate Plc confirmed condensed milk which is produced by Thai Dairy Industry Co Ltd was used in the production process instead.

Problematic products were examined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“We confirm every product is manufactured properly and the production process is up to standard. We are always responsible for our business,” said Vithoon.
