Bangkok - Thailand’s steel prices possibly drop this month as the world steel prices tend to decrease continually because of declining world oil prices.
A sub-committee called a meeting to consider the steel price structure on October 14.
It was expected world steel prices would averagely drop 14,000 baht per ton.
The price of imported steel bar would plunge to about 28,250 baht per ton while the price of imported steel plate 30,000-32,000 baht per ton.
Price changes could be seen early in November.
Mrs. Watcharee Vimuktayon, deputy director general of the internal trade department, revealed the department was checking the selling steel prices in the system.
The sub-committee would later inform the steel importers about the median price.
