Bangkok - The Thai-Cambodia border talks which was scheduled to occur on October 15 was put off indefinitely, according to Second Region Army Commander Lt Gen Vibulsak Neehpan.

Thailand and Cambodia plan to find a way out of the disputed border.

Maj Gen Kanok Netrakawesna, Suranaree Task Force chief, will represent Thailand to talk to its Cambodian counterpart.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday issued an ultimatum that Thailand had to withdraw its troops from the sensitive area.

It was reported that Thailand withdrew its troops from the area one hour after such warning.

However, Thailand’s foreign ministry later denied taking back about 80 troops overseeing the disputed area.

Thai troops have overseen the area for 20-30 years.

Opposition party’s leader Abhisit Vejjajiva remarked the government might want to distract people’s attention from October 7 incident.
