Bangkok - HM Queen Sirikit and HRH Princess Chulabhorn Walailak will attend Angkana Radabpanyavut or Nong Bow’s funeral at 4:00 pm today at Wat Sri Prawat, according to the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary.
The news delighted the Radabpanyavut family very much.
Angkana or Nong Bow is one of the two dead people after the October 7 incident. About 471 people were injured.
There were clashes between police and the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters last week as police wanted to bring the cabinet to present its policies to parliament.
Thousands of PAD protesters are expected to attend the funeral this evening.
The PAD cancelled its plan to march to police headquarters because it wanted its members to focus on cremation, according to Pipob Thongchai, one of the PAD leaders.
"We decided to call off the rally today and tomorrow because we want the cremation for our two people to be big. If we still held the rally, some may not go for cremation on time," Pibhop told AFP.
Her two younger sisters said that if government delegates attended the funeral, there would be nobody to welcome them.
