Somchai urged to take responsibility for bloodshed

Bangkok - Leaders of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) called Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwan to take responsibility for October 7 bloodshed.

PAD leaders Pipob Thongchai and Somsak Kosaisuk jointly held a press briefing on PAD’s reaction to clashes between PAD protesters and police.

The premier and Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General were asked to show their responsibility for injured and dead people.

A committee would be set up to take criminal lawsuits against police who harmed people.

Somsak remarked the way soldiers helped police who harmed people already terminated the negotiation with the government.

Thai Post columnist Plew Si Ngern said police repeatedly used violence against people to serve the political power.

Krunthep Turakij columnist Suthichai Yoon criticized the police overacted when cracking down the protesters to get reconciliation based on tear gas and blood.

Matichon newspaper questioned how the government will administrate the country to get unity when there is a wound in people’s heart.
