Bangkok - Mental health experts will be sent to cure injured people and their relatives’ heart after bloody clashes between police and the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) demonstrators on October 7.
There are three groups of affected people. They are people who directly faced the crackdown, relatives and friends of these people, and people who keep up with news.
People will be stressful when their body and mind respond to irregular events.
80-90% of people facing crisis will be under stress for one week to one month, according to Dr. Chatri Bancheun, director general of department of mental health.
Some people may recover when time goes by. However, those who fail to recover may be at the Post-Traumatic Stress Order (PTSO) risk.
The disorder can affect living in the long run.
52.09% of the respondents disagreed that police used tear gas to disperse the PAD protesters while 47.1% agreed to the crackdown.
52.4% wanted to see parliament dissolution while 42.2% thought the prime minister should resign, according to ABAC poll.
