Bangkok - More than half of the flood victims in the central region, north and northeast were affected by floods, and tended to be under stress, according to the ABAC poll.
Assumption University surveyed people in 19 provinces nationwide: Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi, Chanthaburi, Trad, Chachoengsao, Prachinburi, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakam, Sakon Nakhon, Mukdahan, Nan, Phitsanulok and Phichit.
1,313 respondents were interviewed during September 16-22.
54.7% were much affected by floods while 33.3% were averagely affected and 12% were least affected.
The stress level of the flood victims was up to 6.73.
The stress level would increase more, especially among people who did not live near the main roads.
On the contrary, the stress level would fall, in particular, among people who lived near the main roads.
55.9% thought the political situation somehow affected assistance given to the flood victims.
51.4% believed there was corruption regarding the budgets for helping flood victims.
29% said they did not get any help.
