Bangkok - The qualifications of the head of the government and the cabinet’s members were honesty (74.2%), responsibility (64.8%) and patriotism (62.9%), according to ABAC poll.
Other qualifications included sacrifice (59.8%), political ethnics (58.6%), discipline (41.3%), patience (41.2%) and mindfulness (40.6%).
2,975 respondents in 18 provinces nationwide were surveyed on September 9-10.
68.1% thought a new election would help end the political deadlock.
54.2% wanted to see the coalition parties withdraw from the coalition government whereas 53.6% said the government should resign.
However, if the new premier had to come from the People Power Party (PPP), the best choice would be Surapong Suebwonglee (53.8%), Sompong Amornvivat (24.3%) and Somchai Wongswasdi (12.4%).
64% thought the country would be peaceful after the Constitutional Court’s verdict against Samak Sundaravej regarding the TV cooking show.
