Warning of floods in north, northeast and east

Bangkok - The Meteorological Department issued its 31st announcement to warn people in the north, northeast and east of flash floods.

Flash floods and mountain run-off would be caused by the low-pressure mass passing the north and northeast.

Heavy rain could be expected in Chiang Rai, Payao, Nan, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai and Phichit.

Affected areas also included Loei, Nong Bualumpu, Nongkhai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Nakhon Sawan, Saraburi, Lopburi, Prachinburi, Sakaew, Chanthaburi and Trad.

More than two-metre waves could be expected in the Andaman Sea. Fishermen were warned of navigation on September 18-19.

80% of rain could be expected in the north while 70% of rain in the northeast and central region.

30% of rain could be seen in the eastern south while 40% of rain in western south.

70% of rain could be expected in Bangkok and surrounding provinces.
