Bangkok - Heavy rain could be expected in the northeast as the Mekhala tropical storm moved from the southwest to west. Small boats should stop sailing from today to October 1.

80% of rain could be seen in many areas of the northeastern region.

The low-pressure mass passing the north and northeast as well as the southwest monsoon would influence the north, central region, east and south of Thailand.

More rain could be expected during these few days.

People in risk areas were warned of flash floods and mountain run-off. No navigation should be done by small boats until October 2.

Risk areas included Nan, Phichit, Uttaradit, Phetchabun, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Saraburi, Lopburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sakaew, Chanthaburi, Trad, Ranong and Phang Nga.

Minburi district is one of the sensitive areas in Bangkok. Many areas were flooded due to last night’s raining.
