Bangkok - The Royal Irrigation Department warned of flash floods and mountain run-off during these few days.

The department’s spokesman Boonsanong Suchartpong revealed the department was watching the risk areas in 22 provinces which could face floods and mountain run-off if it rained heavily.

Those areas are in the east, central region and south.

About 1,000 fast-moving water pumps were provided to serve the flood situation.

Boonsanong said that the large and medium-sized reservoirs still could serve more than 20,000 million cubic metres of water.

He confirmed that the water level in Bangkok was not worrying, and there would be no flooding unless the water level in the Chao Phraya Dam reached over 2,000 cubic metres per second.

Previously, the Meteorological Department warned that there would be flash floods in a few days, because the low-pressure mass passed the central region and east.
