Bangkok - The ministry of natural resources and environment called a meeting to estimate the flood situation after floods took place in several areas.

According to the department of water resources, three large reservoirs served more than 80% of water.

Srinakarin Dam in Kanchanaburi served 85% of water while Khundan Prakarnchol Dam in Nakhon Nayok 80% and Prasae Dam in Rayong 83% respectively.

It is possible water would be released from those dams if more water was added to the dams.

The ministry already coordinated with the royal irrigation department and department of prevention and relief of public disasters to manage water, issue warnings and help people cope with floods.

So far, floods took place in many provinces such as Saraburi, Lopburi, Phitsanulok, Phicit, Sukhothai and Lampang.

The Meteorological Department issued the 20th warning, predicting heavy rain, flash floods and mountain run-off could possibly happen in 1-2 days.

Heavy rain would continue in most regions of Thailand, especially in the north and northeast.
